Introduction

This patch fixes an error that occurs when running the Event Instance Report in K2 Workspace.

This article describes the error involved and how to install the patch to resolve the issue.

Out of Memory Exception

Running the Event Instance Report in K2 Workspace will cause an Out Of Memory exception on a system that has a high volume of process instances.

The local machine has the following items installed:
  • K2 blackpearl 0807 4.8210.1.0 or 4.8210.1.1

Example Scenario
Note: The steps below describe one scenario under which this error may occur. The steps below are simplified and not all the steps will be shown or described.

  1. Select Process Overview from the K2 Workspace Homepage
  2. Click on the Process Name
  3. Select the Process Folio from the list
  4. Select one of the Activity Names from the list
  5. It will appear that a report is being generated, then the error occurs

Error Messages

The following error message relates to this issue in the KB Article:
  • An error has occurred during report processing.
    Query execution failed for data set ’Event_Instances’.
    Exception of type ’System.OutOfMemoryException’ was thrown.
    Exception of type ’SourceCode.SmartObjects.Client.SmartObjectException’ was thrown.

Error Resolution

This Patch is contained within the latest K2 blackpearl 0807 Update. Install the update package to resolve the error.
