Introduction

This patch fixes an error that may occur when searching for a User using the K2 Object Browser search option.

This article describes the error and how to install the patch to resolve the issue.

Special Character Error

When performing a user search that contains special characters in K2 Designer for Visual Studio, a 'The search string may not contain any special characters' error will occur.

The local machine has the following items installed:

  • K2 blackpearl 0807 4.8210.1.x or 4.8210.2.0

Example Scenario
Note: The steps below describe one scenario under which this error may occur. The steps below are simplified and not all the steps will be shown or described.

  1. Open the K2 Object Browser
  2. Select the User Browser Tab
  3. Right click on Users and select Search
  4. Enter Name.Surname
  5. Click on the Search button
  6. The error will occur as shown below

Error Messages

The following error message relates to this issue in the KB Article:
  • The search string may not contain any special characters.

Error Resolution

This Patch is contained within the latest K2 blackpearl 0807 Update. Install the update package to resolve the error.
