When using the K2 ADO.NET provider to update a SmartBox SmartObject record with a blank string, null, or string.empty, the empty value does not persist in the SmartBox table.

Error Scenario Steps

Note: The steps below describe one scenario under which this error may occur. The steps below are simplified and not all the steps will be shown or described.
  1. Using the K2 ADO.NET provider, create a SmartBox SmartObject record
    INSERT smartobject_name
    ( property_list )
    ( {expression } [ ,...n] )
  2. Edit this record and clear the value or insert a blank string, null, or string.empty
    UPDATE smartobject_name
    SET property_name = ''
    WHERE < search_condition >
  3. The initial value is retained in the SmartBox table instead of the blank value

Error Messages

The following error messages relate to this issue:
  • No Error Message : The empty value of a K2 SmartBox SmartObject does not persist through the K2 ADO.NET provider

Error Resolution

This Hotfix is contained within the latest K2 blackpearl 0807 Update. Install the update package to resolve the error.
