KB000428 resolves a number of K2 Workflow Server issues and includes previous hotfixes, the details are listed below:

Issues Resolved

The following issues are resolved in this hotfix:

Issue 1

When a process instance goes into an error state and the process instance is retried in the Management Console, the instance is moved to an Active state. Though the instance is in an Active state, the activity status is empty when running reports.

Error Scenario Steps

Note: The steps below describe one scenario under which these errors may occur. These steps are simplified and not all steps are shown or described.
  • Create a process with a client event.
  • Create an empty server event that follows the client event.
  • On the client Event, create an activity escalation that fires after a few seconds. Use the GoTo option to proceed to the server event.
  • Deploy the process.
  • Start an instance of the process and verify that the process completes correctly when the escalation fires.

Issue 2

Processes that use the Go To functionality result in process instances that remain in a running state.

  • Create a process with a client event.
  • Create an empty server event that follows the client event.
  • On the client Event, create an activity escalation that fires after a few seconds. Use the GoTo option to proceed to the server event.
  • Deploy the process.
  • Start an instance of the process. Note that the process does not Go To the next activity.

Issue 3

"Archive buffer overflow" error occurs when attempting to assign Out Of Office users through the UI or the API.

Error Scenario Steps

  • Open K2 Workspace
  • Select the Configuration icon
  • Select the Out of Office tab
  • Add a user to the 'Forwad all work items to' section
  • The 'Archive buffer overflow' error will display

Known Issue

Process instances and the Manage All Process Instances screens in K2 Management Console > Workflow Server > Processes are inaccessible and an error stating "Error: Could not load the grid: Failed to return Process Instance Data Table: Column 'ProdID' does not belong to table."



Workaround: Install KB000438 - Hotfix: Error occurs on Process instances and Manage All Process Instances screens in K2 Management Console

Error Resolution

This Hotfix is contained within the latest K2 blackpearl 0807 Update. Install the update package to resolve the error.
