In K2 blackpearl 0807 (4.8210.2.450) and (4.8210.3.0) changes have been made to how the developer license functions. The changes are as follows:
  1. In previous versions of K2 blackpearl, the Developer license permitted the product to run as a service, in the latest version a Developer license only allows the application to run in console mode.
  2. In the config file it is possible to stipulate the number of executable threads that the server can use. In the latest version of K2 blackpearl a Developer License only allows for one executable thread at a time. Implications of this change are:
  • It is still possible to configure the number of threads in the config file, but this number is ignored and only one thread is permitted. This also applies to environments that are upgraded where the configuration already exists in the config file.
  • As a result of the change in the number of executing threads, a decrease in performance could be experienced. To resolve this issue it would be necessary to upgrade the Developer license. This can be achieved by contacting your regional support center.
