Error Scenario Steps

Note: The steps below describe scenarios under which these errors may occur. These steps are simplified and not all steps are shown or described.
  1. Create a K2 Process 
  2. Drag a Default Activity onto the canvas
  3. Add a Server Event to this Activity
  4. Right click on the Activity and select Properties
  5. In the General Properties Screen,  select the Start Rule icon in the left navigation pane
  6. Select the Start option
  7. Enter 12/31/9999 23:59:59 in the Date field
  8. Click next and finish the Wizard
  9. Draw a line between the Start block and the Default Activity
  10. Deploy the process
  11. Ensure that K2 Host Server is running in console mode
  12. Open Workspace -> K2 Management -> Workflow Server -> Open your process -> Select Instance
  13. Start an Instance of the process
  14. As the process starts, open the K2 blackpearl Server
  15. An error appears in Host Server

Error Messages

The follow error message applies to this article:

  • Error 1 The datediff function resulted in an overflow. The number of dateparts separating two date/time instances is too large. Try to use datediff with a less precise datepart.

Error Resolution

This Hotfix is contained within the latest K2 blackpearl Update. Install the update package to resolve the error.
