The K2 Web Part loads as a part of a SharePoint page, however if the web part encounters an error the SharePoint page is unable to load until such time as the K2 web part has completed loading or returns with an error.

A K2 web part is integrated as part of a SharePoint page. When the page loads, the web part's loading requirements may take priority over other resources for example the SharePoint page that hosts the web part. This results in the SharePoint page not being able to load, or render visibly for the user until such time as the web part loads or returns an error.
The K2 web part relies on a number of environmental criteria to be able to load, for example 1) access 2) authentication via a user manager 3) database access all these recources may be affected by network usage, service polling, database access and so on which contributes to the web part not being able to load and potentially throwing an error.
