When a user receives a Worklist item via a notification and make use of the link provided, the Worklist item will be opened directly making use of the serial number provided in the notification. The error will only occur if the user did not opened the Worklist before opening the Worklist item using the Notification link.

Error Scenario

To reproduce this error:

  1. Create a process and use groups / roles.  Add notifications on events.
  2. Start a few instances
  3. Do not access the Worklist for the assigned destination users
  4. Log in as one of the assigned destination users and open the email notification.  Click on the link to open the Worklist item.
  5. At this point the exception will be thrown.

Error Message

"24411 K2:Server\User from IP Address is not allowed to open the worklist item with SN=Serial Number"

Error Resolution

This Hotfix is contained within the latest K2 blackpearl 0807 Update. Install the update package to resolve the error.
