Internet Explorer 11 workaround to allow K2 Workspace and K2 Process Portals to render correctly

Issue Description

When accessing K2 Workspace or K2 Process Portals using Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, the web pages may be displayed incorrectly. To resolve this issue, you need to add Compatibility View settings and add the sites that host the K2 Workspace and Process Portals to the Trusted Sites zone. 

Issue Recreation Steps

  1. Use a machine with Internet Explorer 11.
  2. Open the K2 Workspace or a K2 Process Portal site.
  3. The display of the web page will be incorrect as shown below where you can see the Worklist area not filling the Internet Explorer window.

Resolution

To resolve the rendering issues with K2 Workspace and K2 Process Portal in Internet Explorer 11, Compatibility View needs to be set and the sites should be added to the Trusted Sites Zone. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Open Internet Explorer 11.
  2. From the Menu Bar Go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings.
  3. Add the K2 Workspace URL and K2 Process Portal URL and then click Close.
    Note: The image below shows a sample URL, your URL will be different.

  4. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites > Advanced.
  5. Add the K2 Workspace URL and K2 Process Portal URL and then click Close.

  6. Open the K2 Workspace or a K2 Process Portal site and verify that the web page is rendered correctly.

 Note that it is possible to set Trusted Sites and Compatibility mode using Group Polices. As a starting point for more information, see:
