Introduction

K2 Five released a new HTML5-based Workflow Designer. This is the main workflow canvas to use when designing new workflows and K2 solutions. The new workflow designer is where new features and integrations will surface going forward. Any workflows built in the legacy designers will continue to be supported, but K2 recommends that any new development be on the new workflow designer going forward.

K2 blackpearl Upgrades

For customers upgrading from K2 blackpearl 4.7 to K2 Five (5.0), the legacy workflow designers (including K2 Studio, K2 Designer for Visual Studio, and the Silverlight-based Workflow Designer) will still be available to edit your existing workflows as well as create new solutions.

These designers are now marked "Legacy" with the K2 Five release, but the designers will still be supported and eligible for code fixes during the K2 Five (5.0) support window. Any solutions built on legacy designers will be supported through the standard support channels during the K2 Five (5.0) support window.

K2 Appit for SharePoint Upgrades

For customers upgrading from K2 Appit for SharePoint to K2 Cloud, the legacy workflow designer (the Silverlight-based Workflow Designer) will still be available to edit your existing workflows as well as create new solutions.

The Silverlight-based designer is now marked "Legacy" with the K2 Cloud release, but the designer will still be supported and eligible for code fixes during the K2 Five (5.0) support window. Any solutions built on the legacy designer will be supported through the standard support channels during the K2 Five (5.0) support window.
