Issue Description

When you search for a user and specify a manager who does not exist, an undescriptive error is presented in the ADUM error logs.

Error Message

The following error occurs: "Error", "FindSecurityUsersWithDefault", "Object reference not set to an instance of an object.", "   at ADUM.K2UserManager2.EscapeSearchFilter(String filter) at ADUM.K2UserManager2.FindSecurityUsersWithDefault(String Group, String Name, String Description, String Email, String Manager, String size, String domainLDAP, String upn, String uOrgUnit, String DisplayName)"

Resolution

  1. Ensure you have K2 Five RTM installed.
  2. Get the K2 Five RTM FP19 from Regional Support.
  3. Install the K2 Five RTM FP19 to apply the fix.
  4. The error message presented in the Adum error logs will now be more descriptive stating: "The distinguished name property for the manager '[Domain][Manager Name]' could not be found.".
