Code Fix: Data field value is not updated when the value is set to empty


Issue Description

When you create a data field and add the field to a form, entering a value in the data field when submitting the form sets its value. When the task participant opens the form and leaves the data field empty, the value should be updated to an empty value. However, after submitting the task, the data field value is not updated and displays the value previously added when submitting the form. If you navigate to K2 Management > Workflow Server > Workflows > {Your Workflow Name} > Reports Tab and you click on View Details of the Workflow Instance, click on Data Audit, you will see that the Current Data still displays the first value that was entered when submitting the form as the Field Value.


  1. Ensure you have K2 Five (5.1) installed.
  2. Get the K2 Five (5.1) FP10 from Regional Support.
  3. Install the K2 Five (5.1) FP10 to apply the fix.
  4. It is recommended to clear the browser cache.
