Code Fix: Unable to deploy a workflow


Issue Description

Unable to deploy a workflow when a property is used as both the input and return values on the same SmartObject step.

Error Message

When deploying the workflow, an error message will display indicating that the SmartObject method had a deployment error, stating that it is pointing to an external reference definition that does not exist.


  1. Ensure you have K2 Five (5.2) installed.
  2. Download the K2 Five (5.2) FP7 from K2 Partner and Customer Portal.
  3. Install the K2 Five (5.2) FP7 to apply the fix.
  4. It is recommended to refresh the browser cache.
