Code Fix: Unable to search or order roles in K2 Management

KB003223

PRODUCT
K2 Five 5.3
K2 Five (5.3) Fix Pack 6

Issue Description

When a large number of roles exist in the K2 Management Roles node list you are unable to search or sort the list making it difficult to find a specific role.

Solution

The Roles page in the management site was updated to use a different approach to list roles. The table below describes some of the enhancements made to the Roles node in K2 Management:

Added Filtering and Sorting
Image
  1. Create your own filter to find specific roles by using values in the context browser together with operators.
  2. Create a filter that sorts the list of Roles by ascending or descending order. For more information see Searching and Filtering List Views.
Added Quick SearchImage Search for a Role either by Name or Description. The value you enter could either be the full value of the field or a partial match value. Using a partial value will returns all items containing the value in the name of the field. For example, entering Dep will return all roles containing the letters dep such as Department A, Department B, Finance Department etc. For more information see Searching and Filtering List Views.
Removed selection checkboxes

Highlight a specific role click the Edit or Delete button. (Note that you can no longer select multiple roles at the same time.)
Removed the Refresh with Worklist checkbox

In the list of roles, the option to refresh a worklist when adding or removing people in a role is no longer available. You can still edit this setting when you add a new role or edit an existing role.

Resolution

  1. Ensure that you have K2 Five (5.3) installed.
  2. Download the K2 Five (5.3) FP6 from K2 Partner and Customer Portal.
  3. Install the K2 Five (5.3) FP6 to apply the fix.
  4. Refresh your browser cache.
  5. Launch the Roles screen and you should see the updated interface.
