The K2 4.7 May 2017 Cumulative Update is now available for download. This cumulative update includes all of the previously released fixes and requires K2 4.7. This update installer will update any of the K2 components installed.

Salesforce security changes

In a phased approach, Salesforce began disabling TLS 1.0 encryption protocol to increase security. This change impacts K2 integration with Salesforce via the K2 Salesforce service broker. K2 has a fix available for supported K2 blackpearl versions (4.6.10, 4.6.11, and 4.7). This bulletin describes your options to ensure that your Salesforce-integrated K2 solutions continue to work.

Update for K2 connect for SAP now available

SAP is ending support for the classic RFC library (librfc32.dll) on March 31, 2016. This RFC library is used by K2 Connect for SAP to integrate with SAP BAPIs. We have an update for K2 connect now available for download, which replaces the classic RFC integration with the new NetWeaver RFC library. We have also added support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 and Windows 10 with this release.

Third-party support with the K2 4.7 release

With the next release of K2 blackpearl (4.7), we will be changing third-product version support, as many of these are product versions no longer supported by the original product vendor and new versions have been released. Getting ready for the next K2 release

The next release of K2 blackpearl, called K2 4.7, will require your K2 databases to be consolidated into a single K2 database. When upgrading to K2 4.7, the installer will check to see if you are on a consolidated database. If not, you will be blocked from upgrading.

Internet Explorer Support

On Tuesday, January 12th, Microsoft ends support for Internet Explorer 8, 9, and 10. The end of support means that these older versions of Internet Explorer will no longer receive security updates or technical support. As such, K2 will also no longer release fixes or patches for these older versions of Internet Explorer. For more information, please read this tech bulletin.

Action Required for SharePoint Online Customers

Today Microsoft unexpectedly changed the common consent scopes without notifying the partners who have built applications with a dependency on this framework. K2 relies on this framework for OAuth token flows between SharePoint Online and K2 blackpearl 4.6.9. The steps for fixing your environment are detailed in KB001671.

Action Required for SharePoint Online Customers

The K2 4.6.9 release requires a change to trust.k2.com, the site used for OAuth token flows between SharePoint Online and K2 blackpearl. This change will occur on March 31, 2015 and at that time K2 blackpearl for SharePoint apps that have not been updated will no longer work and encounter the error described in KB001671.
