K2 Toolbox

The project menu allows you to add a new process, add an existing process, add a new folder, deploy the project, and create a deployment package.

Once a process has been added to the project, right click on the name of the process to access the process menu, which allows you to include or exclude the process from the project or remove it altogether.

The Object Browser provides access to K2 objects. These objects users, data fields, services and objects contained within those services, inline functions, and workflow context. .

An activity in a K2 Studio workflow contains business logic and executable events. A set of activities linked together using lines form part of a workflow process. An activity represents a single logical step in the workflow process, and each logical step can require one or more individual user (client) and/or system (server) events (actions) to complete the activity.

A single activity can contain one or more events. You must decide which actions and events are needed to complete the particular activity.

Event wizards feature three types of events: Server Events, Client Events and Inter Process Communication (IPC) events. In combination, these events are used to create collaborative (human-to-human), transactional (human-to-system) and application integration (system-to-system) events within a workflow.

The event wizards are arranged in categories in the toolbox; General Events, SharePoint 2010, Azure Active Directory, CRM and SharePoint 2013 Events.

The Line wizards generate the logic rules that execute between events and activities. Line rules determine which path is taken depending on static values or SmartObject lookups, for example in routing an expense report for a higher level or second approval when it exceeds a certain amount.

The User Browser node of the toolbox presents a list of Roles, Users, and Groups found within configured user managers. You can drag and drop users, groups and roles to configure your activities, such as assigning tasks to them.
