This article was created in response to a support issue logged with K2. The content may include typographical errors and may be revised at any time without notice. This article is not considered official documentation for K2 software and is provided "as is" with no warranties.

Issue

When deploying a workflow from K2 Studio on a Test environment, an error appears:

"Unexpected error occurred during execution of SourceCode.DeploymentTasks.ExportProcessTask - ... - The access to a Socket was refused because of Access Permissions"

Symptoms

After analyzing the issue, it was found that deploying K2 Studio from a customers' client machine to the TEST server was not possible due to the above error appearing.
The servers in K2 Studio were switched to make it point to PRD. A simple solution was then deployed without the error appearing.

The TEST environment is on a newly built server where 4.7 has recently been installed.

After temporarily disabling the firewall settings, it was possible to successfully deploy into the TEST server.

Troubleshooting Steps

The error was caused by the incorrect/missing firewall settings, which prevented the client components from reaching the K2 TEST server.
