Issue

Unable to appify Custom Lists in SharePoint. An "Access Denied" error is displayed, stating that user need to have Solution Designer and K2 Designer rights.

Symptoms

Users are unable to generate Forms, Views, SmartObjects and Workflows due to inaccessibility.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. First, check that the Group Synchronization is completed and the correct permission sets are given to the users.

2. Check the naming convention of the Site display name (forward slash "/" character) is not allowed and will cause this behaviour. The underscore "_" character should be used

 

3. Verify that the correct account is specified in the Site Owners group, is correct. There could be duplicate accounts with the same display name but different accounts.
