Issue

Unable to load K2 Workflow Designer due to a "Server Error in '/Designer/Workflow' Application HTTP 404" error. This happens because the Designer Site in IIS is set to use Windows Authentication, causing the error.

Symptoms

"Server Error in '/Designer/Workflow' Application" The Resource Cannot be found.

Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure it is spelt correctly.

Requested URL: /Designer/Workflow/_trust/Login.aspx

Resolution

Configured Designer Site in IIS to use Forms and Anonymous Authentication, rather than Windows Authentication. You can do this by opening the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager application, expand [Your Server] > Sites > K2 > Designer.

Double click Authentication. Here you can right click Forms and Anonymous Authentication to enable them and disable the Windows Authentication.

This will allow you to use the Workflow Designer.
