Issue
Deleting an orphaned SmartObject on K2 Designer results in the following error:Inconsistency detected on SmartObject '[SMARTOBJECT]'. Service Instance '[SERVICE INSTANCE]' not found during loading of SmartObject definition.
Symptoms
This happened as the Service Instance was deleted prior to cleaning up the SmartObjects and Categories which were generated under it. It is important to clean up the dependent items prior to removing the Service Instance to avoid errors such as the one above.Troubleshooting Steps
- Open the SmartObject Service Tester
- Locate the SmartObject/s created in this Service Instance
- Delete the SmartObject/s
- Once the SmartObjects have been deleted, proceed to remove the remaining categories from the SmartObject Service Tester
- Refresh the K2 Designer and K2 Management sites. The orphaned items should have already been deleted.
