"RoleProvider for label K2 could not be found" error appears when searching for user

When searching for a user from K2 Management > Workflow Server > Server Rights, the following error appears:

"RoleProvider for label K2 could not be found"


The following error was found in the K2HostServer log:

"2025 Error Marshalling SourceCode.Hosting.Servers.SecurityManagement.ReloadRoleProvider,
Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\K2 blackpearl\Host Server\Bin\AdumError180214_3.log' is denied."

Troubleshooting Steps

The issue is caused by the K2 Service account not having admin rights on the K2 Server.  To resolve this, please add the K2 Service account to the Local Admin group.
