Issue

When you have a K2 Process that you would like to deploy, this fails with no errors being shown. In the bottom left-hand corner a message appears: "K2 Connection failed".

Symptoms

After looking at the host server logs (Program Files (x86) > K2 Blackpearl > Hostserver > Bin) you may see the following error: "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."

Troubleshooting Steps

If you choose to test the connections via K2 Studio's Object Browser, you will see that the workflow server that is pointing to port 5252 will fail the test. This means that the port was not open.

This port will have to be opened and can be done by following these steps:

- From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

- In Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections.

- Open Windows Firewall > Advanced Settings > Inbound Rules.

After doing this you should be able to deploy the solution successfully.
