Issue
Using the Package and Deployment tool to attempt to create a new copy of a solution on the same instance is not possible.
In this scenario there is a single K2 Cloud instance and the solution is live. We are going to attempt to create a development copy on the same K2 Cloud instance to continue development and then package that and replace the live solution.
Symptoms
You are unable to deploy a Development copy of live NON-SharePoint solutions to the same server as a new copy.Resolution
It is currently not possible to run multiple copies of the same app within the same environment. Only SharePoint solutions have the option to deploy as new.
Please vote for the Idea below to track progress of this feature.
Workaround: To achieve this the only option is to have a true second Development Environment / Instance.
