This article was created in response to a support issue logged with K2. The content may include typographical errors and may be revised at any time without notice. This article is not considered official documentation for K2 software and is provided "as is" with no warranties.

Issue

Using a System Account does not work when installing the K2 for SharePoint app and providing trust. A User Account must be used.

Symptoms

After the K2 for SharePoint app is deployed to the App catalog and it is added to Site Contents, an error occurs on Trusting the K2 Application.

Error: generic SharePoint page with "Something went wrong."

Troubleshooting Steps

It is best to grab the correlation ID from the error being shown and looking at the ULS logs with that Correlation ID. This should give an error like Unauthorized or Access Denied.

- Log in with a User account that has Site Collection admin rights on the App catalog and is a Farm administrator.
- Try adding the app in Site Contents with this account.
