Issue

An error appears on the SmartObject Service Tester tool: "Requested value 'WorkflowStep' was not found."

Symptoms

The SmartObject Service Tester tool on the client machine was on K2 Blackpearl version 4.7; but it was attempting to connect to a K2 Five server.

Connecting a K2 Five client tool to a K2 4.7 Server may also show an error:

"Invalid archive type error"

Troubleshooting Steps

The client tools machine needs to to on the same version/CU/FP as the K2 server it is connecting to:

To check the K2 components version on a server/client tools machine, the "Programs and Features" option can be used.  To check the CU/FP, the applicable K2 database can be queried as per:
